Foredeck

We're standing on the raised foredeck looking aft on the starboard side -- far, far aft -- to see the pilothouse in the distance behind the mizzen mast. At the lower right is a bit of the capstan used to raise the bower anchors, and a monstrous set of bitts which might have been used to take the strain of the rode off the windlass belowdecks. The ship's bell can be glimpsed to the right about halfway up the image.
