The Wheel

The ship's wheel is a handsome fixture. The brightwork looks like it's been painted with Cetol or an equivalent, rather than traditional varnish. Andrew confirmed this, saying what every frustrated boat owner knows: varnish only lasts one bloody season. And on a boat this size, keeping up the brightwork with traditional varnishes would be a full time job year round, as weather permits. Cetol may not look quite so spiffy, but it lasts longer.
