Cargo Hold

We are now down in the depths of the cargo hold, a cavernous space. As the label indicates, the two hulking metal boxes aft are her original fresh water tankage. The hold is now partially filled with simulated cargo -- empty barrels and sacks stuffed with straw instead of grain -- to give visitors some idea of how she looked while being loaded. It was very dim in the hold, so I had to use flash illumination which washed out the colours of the barrels in the foreground. They were not really so pale.
