Wasser Tar 1
Here's some more of the first Wasser coat. The stuff is like roofing tar but less viscous. When in solution it contains mysterious golden sparkles like mica flakes -- very attractive when you're painting it on, like a sparkle lacquer paint job on a hotrod. But this sparkle disappears as it dries out. The solvent is vicious stuff; it is the only thing that removes the fantastically tacky coal tar paint, but when I used it to clean up my tar-spattered arms it started taking the skin off, so I decided to just wear the tar for a while. We applied it with rollers (down to me and Steve now as the painting was really only a job for two people) and it was messy, smelly and slow work at first. Two gallons of the stuff did three coats -- this first coat covers only specific bare patches.
